Long-time friends Betsy Polk and Maggie Ellis Chotas were looking for new challenges and ways to balance their lives with young children when they co-founded Mulberry Tree Consulting (MTC) in 2003. Maggie, an educator and Betsy, an organization development consultant, were able to leverage their complementary backgrounds to create a consulting practice that meets clients’ needs and allows Betsy and Maggie flexibility and creativity in their lives. MTC provides strategic planning, leadership development, coaching and team building services that help clients achieve effectiveness in measurable, practical, lasting ways. Current MTC clients include The School of Government at UNC- Chapel Hill, the Town of Carrboro and Threshold Clubhouse.

With 20 years experience in Human Resources and a passion for making work meaningful while building high performance organizations, Marirose's innovative methods of inspiring people and organizations forms the foundation of her company's services. She has a degree in Communication Studies, holds certificates in behavior and motivator analysis tools, is a Strategic Attraction TM Planner, and is a wife, mother of three, and chief care-taker of a dog, rabbit and two turtles!

Kella Hatcher and Maryanne Perrin are the founders of Balancing Professionals, LLC whose mission is to build bridges between the Triangle business community and the growing pool of professionals who seek part-time careers. Hatcher, an attorney, and Perrin, and MBA/engineer, had both navigated successful part-time careers before joining efforts to promote part-time opportunities for others. Balancing Professionals has helped a variety of companies capitalize on the changing workplace including clients in the pharmaceutical, technology, manufacturing, non-profit, and professional services industries.
